Covenant relationships are based on trust. Can we trust God to be who he says he will be? Our unchanging God has been here all the time. Right now, he is keeping his covenant with us. Like an adulterous partner, Israel turned away from God again and again. Listen to God’s gracious invitation: “Return to me and I will return to you.” This thought is central to our preparation for revival. We want to come back to the God who has never once left us. But we cannot mail this commitment in. We will have to bring our whole lives back to God to experience his blessing. We have tried everything else. What if we tried God, for a change?
