What a difference the Way makes! In the ancient world, people could choose from a cafeteria line of religions. But as the Christians in Ephesus learned the Way of Jesus and lived in Christ’s new Way, their city was transformed. When Jesus became their Lord, the people no longer needed their false goddess Artemis. The Ephesians accused the Christians of robbing Diana of her majesty. No wonder the writer has called Jesus, “the Destroyer of the gods.” Jesus is still exposing our idols and false gods. His Way is still better.
