As we celebrate Pentecost today, we remember that the same Spirit who anointed Jesus at his baptism also raised him from the dead. The Holy Spirit lives in the people of God today. What difference is he making in our church and in our lives? How would our church be different if the Holy Spirit were not here at all? John who was there at the baptism and there at the empty tomb, wrote to the early believers and us, “You have an anointing.” The early church shook up Jerusalem and the world with their message of truth. Will we? Welcome to Pentecost.
