HomeSchool Sharing Library Guidelines

Purpose of the Home School Sharing Library at Tallowood Baptist Church: To provide a location for HomeSchool families to share grade-level curriculums and develop a supportive home school community.

Families share Homeschool Materials from their collections. Each family would decide what they would like to share with the HomeSchool Sharing Library.

Materials are entered into the database with a list of all items in their sets. All donations will be inventoried for parts and pieces to ensure that the materials available are complete.

Materials are stored in the Tallowood Library, in a space not available to the general Tallowood community. The HomeSchool curriculums will only be available to families who sign up to be part of the HomeSchool community.

To use materials, families should offer their own materials. The only way we can build a Sharing HomeSchool Library is by donations from HomeSchool parents.

If a family uses materials from the shared Home School Library, materials should be returned in good condition. If a book/resource has been misplaced or destroyed it should be replaced before returning the collection of materials. It is expected that materials will show some wear over a given year, however extensive wear will need to have replacement made.

Materials can be exchanged at any time, however the majority of exchanges will take place in May/August.

Each Home School Collection will come with a list of materials included in the collection.

Additional resources will be available in the Home School Shared Library as they are added and donated.

The Home School Shared Library will NOT become part of the Tallowood Library. The Sharing HomeSchool Library is a separate collection, available only to the HomeSchool Shared Library Community.

Books from recommended lists from Home School groups will be added to the Tallowood Library and available for check out to the Tallowood community. The books added to the Tallowood Library will be available for regular circulation.
