Membership at Tallowood Baptist Church
Have you been attending Tallowood Baptist Church for a while and are now considering taking the next step by becoming a member? Becoming a member of Tallowood is a wonderful way to deepen your relationship with Christ and make meaningful connections with other believers to share your life with. With the many challenges Christians face and so much darkness in the world, Jesus never meant for us to go through life alone. That’s why we believe it’s better to do life together as Christians.
The next Membership Discovery is on October 25 at 9 AM in The Grand Room, 3rd Floor of the West Wing.
2026 Upcoming Membership Discovery Dates
October 25 and November 22
Why Should I Become A Member?
If you’ve been attending Tallowood Baptist Church but haven’t made the decision to become a member yet, we encourage you to take the next step in your faith by joining our church. The main difference between being a guest or fairly regular attendee and becoming a member is within the level of commitment. When you become a member at Tallowood, you are committed to being an active member of our church family and furthering the kingdom of God.
As a member, you’ll be able to deeply connect and build intimate relationships with other members to help strengthen your faith, just as the Bible calls us to do. Ephesians 2:19-22 explains, “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him, you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
Stay Connected to God
Having a church home and family also gives you a level of accountability within your faith and relationship with God. If you aren’t a member of a church, it might be easy to become disconnected from other believers and drift away from God when faced with a challenge or hardship. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”
Being a member allows you to have stability by having a home base where you can always find support and encouragement, no matter what you’re facing. As a church family, we’ll celebrate with you through your successes and be there for you when you need it most. Paul encourages the church of Corinth to do this by writing, “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together” (1 Corinthians 12:26).
What Does the Bible Say About Membership?
Throughout the Bible, there are many places where the importance of fellowship and unity in the body of Christ are emphasized. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” God created us to live in community together and calls us to build each other up. God wants us to come together and meet to share our faith and worship Him as one body. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
