Ethan Barton
Ethan was born in Houston, Texas, on July 26, 2000, to a family of Tallowood members. At the age of five, his family moved to Tyler, Texas, where he spent most of his childhood. He then attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and graduated summa cum laude in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Upon graduating, he returned to Houston and has ever since been serving in ministry at Tallowood Baptist Church. He is also in the process of studying at Dallas Theological Seminary to earn a Master of Theology degree. Ethan married his wife, Rebecca Mulley, on April 11, 2025.
This is Ethan’s testimony: “I have never not known Christ. I grew up with the wisdom, love, and joy of the Lord being taught to me every day, and I was baptized in August of 2010. Early on, I read through the Bible, sought ways to evangelize to my classmates, and prayed constantly that God would fill me with his wisdom, just as he had for Solomon (1 Kings 3:3-15). However, it wasn’t until my time at Baylor that God began to strip me of much of my pride and self-glorifying desires that had driven me for so long. I learned to humbly surrender myself to his will and find my delight in him alone. Since then, I have been devoted to serving and glorifying him with everything I do, including, Lord willing, my future career as a pastor.”
Ethan is an avid student and always enjoys growing his understanding of the character, works, and Word of God. He also enjoys playing golf, watching the Dallas Cowboys or Star Wars, and playing music with either a guitar or a piano. But most importantly, Ethan loves teaching others how to live transformed lives in Christ Jesus, so that others may thrive in the goodness of God just as he does.
