At Tallowood, we believe that our church is more than a place but a home where you can experience a family-like community filled with love and joy that is built on our commitment to following Jesus. Regardless of what you’ve done in the past or what you’ve been through, Tallowood is ready to welcome you with open arms into our church.
Grow In Your Faith
At Tallowood Baptist Church, our number one priority is following, worshiping, and serving Jesus. If you’ve never accepted Jesus into your heart or have drifted away from your faith, we’ll help you to understand who Jesus is and the depth of His love for you. We believe it’s our duty to share the hope and love that is found in Jesus and strive to continuously deepen the faith of our congregation. If you’re a long time Christian, we believe that God will use Tallwood to strengthen your faith and connect with you in a way that only Jesus can do.
While many people think of the church as a place you just go to on Sundays or special holidays, Tallowood is so much more. While we love to gather together on Sundays in fellowship and worship, it’s important to also stay close to God throughout the week and put your faith into practice daily. We offer many ways for you to stay active and connected to Tallwood throughout the week to further your faith and understanding of who Jesus is. Between connect groups, daily devotionals, youth events, and more, you’ll be able to see Jesus move in your life.

In a world often filled with pain and loneliness, it can be challenging to find a place where you feel like you truly belong. That’s why it’s so vital to find a church where you can build real and meaningful relationships and intimately connect with God on a personal level. At Tallowood Baptist Church, we have plenty of ministries, connect groups, and service opportunities so that you can find a place where you fit right in. Whether you’re interested in singing together in worship, attending a small Bible study where you can create authentic friendships, or playing sports, there’s something for everyone at Tallowood. Come As You Are
We believe that God will use our church to powerfully transform your life and reveal himself to you in a deeper way. As the apostle Paul defined it in his letter to the Romans, we are the people who rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. Tallowood is a place where you will laugh and cry together. You can have peace of mind knowing that whatever you go through in life, you’ll have the support of Tallowood to always fall back on. We’ll be there for you to celebrate your highs and mourn with you during your lows. In this family of faith, we say to everyone, “Come as you are!”.

Watch Your Life Transform
We believe that along with acceptance, God also calls us to become more like Jesus as we grow and mature in our faith. The Bible tells us as we become more like Jesus, we’ll produce the fruits of the spirit which include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5: 22-23).
At Tallowood, you’ll be surrounded by like-minded Christians who can encourage you to stay strong in your faith and help you to grow spiritually to produce more fruit for the kingdom of Heaven. We’ll gently hold you accountable to help you become the person God wants you to be and cover you in grace when you make mistakes, just as Jesus calls us to do. Whoever you are; wherever you have been, Tallowood is a community that welcomes you to experience the abundant life of being a child of God.
Impact The Lives Of Others
Jesus didn’t just call us to hear his word and keep it to ourselves. In Mark 16:15, Jesus says to his followers, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” As disciples of Christ, we believe that we were meant to be the hands and feet of Jesus and impact the lives of others both within our local community, and globally.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 20:28, “Even as the son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many.” At Tallowood, you’ll have incredible opportunities to serve Jesus and share the love of God with others within our church, the Houston community, and on a global level. With serving opportunities from greeting people on Sundays to running a youth group event or going on a mission trip, there are plenty of ways that you can make a difference in the lives of others.
You might be thinking to yourself why would God want to use someone like me? The Bible tells us many stories of God using imperfect, normal people in amazing ways for His glory.
